I’ve been wanting to do more to be more involved with the blogging community. I decided to join up with the Currently linkup on the first Wednesday of the month again here. The last time I did this was back in October of 2015… that’s a long time. Each month the host picks 5 words for the participants to share what they are currently doing and I thought it was a great way to talk about life. Here goes!
Accomplishing…
lots of yard work! We traveled all of last summer and I was in grad school + working the previous summer. We got way behind on our yard. We’re starting to catch up and it is helping me remember why we decided to buy a house with a big yard after all. I have a post coming up soon to help me like it even more 🙂 .
Feeling…
excited about spring clothing! When I did my recent closet purge, I realized how void of color my closet was (something Devin has been trying to tell me for a loooong time). I’m excited about lighter fabrication, the bright tinted colors, and knowing what I am really looking for after spending so much time researching my style. I’m actually very excited about shopping and buying color now!
Needing…
sleep. My thyroid medication just got upped and when that happens, I always become an insomniac; we’re talking weeks without being able to truly sleep at night. After laying in bed for three hours, I decided to get up and try to sleep on the couch and literally everything else in our house. I was still awake when my husband’s alarm went off, but I was able to get about three hours of sleep today.
Practicing…
being a better homemaker. I think this is a lifelong mission and it isn’t something that comes naturally to me. I do work outside of the home, but I think the feeling you create in your home is extremely important regardless of gender or occupation. While there are many ways to make your home “feel good”, I think cleaning is definitely a basic there. I’ve been trying to really embrace cleaning and taking pride in being able to provide that for our home and family. I’m not the best at homemaking all of the time and I definitely have days where I wonder where the whole day went, but I feel proud of the time I do spend homemaking and I’m working at being more efficient about it.
Pinning…
lots of posts researching things for our upcoming trip to Ireland this fall! It turns out that Ireland is just a really ridiculously beautiful place and it is hard to plan a trip there because of it. I’ve also been pinning a lot of kitchen remodel stuff because that is something that will be on our radar in the next few years. I’m loving all kitchens with white and light aqua accents. I’m also looking forward to having more than four feet of counter top space 😉 .
