Ever since Evie started sleeping through the night, this year has flown by! We did all of the Halloween festivities that you can do with a baby, had our friends from Finland to celebrate Thanksgiving with, and we’ve now been in northern Virginia for over a year. I feel really lucky and happy to be living the life we have.
I’m sharing what we’re doing currently throughout the post + linking up with Anne in Residence.
I’M CURRENTLY…
LOVING | all things will this little girl. It has been a real treat to see her experience so many things for the first time. She is so happy and so excited about life. To be so cliche, she becomes more and more fun the older she gets.
CHILDPROOFING | the last of our house. Currently, we’re figuring out how to put up the Christmas tree so it doesn’t become a TIMBBBBBBER situation.
WALKING | around our neighborhood with the beautiful leaves and colors. The fall leaves have stayed on the trees extra long this year and it has made for beautiful walks and photos.
WRAPPING | presents for Evie’s second Christmas. Last year she was about two weeks old and she gifted us her first big gummy smiles caught on camera with us. This year, I went to a wholesale location with Evie and picked up a book that revolves around the old Mcdonald song, a water baby, and a little alien that sings. I think I bought all of her Christmas presents for less than $20. Since her birthday is very close to Christmas, I also bought a baby musical instrument set and a play guitar. She loves music and books so I think she will enjoy these presents.
BAKING | nothing. We just finished up on our Thanksgiving leftovers and I’m honestly just wanting real food in a semi-natural form now haha. Have any healthy recipes for the instant pot? Send ’em my way.
SENDING | thank you cards for my baby shower. Yeah, finally haha. I think people will be understanding since we moved and I had a ton of medical issues in there, but it feels good to feel like I have that weight off my back. I wish I was someone who loved writing thank you cards, but I don’t. One of my friends recently told me it is her favorite to write thank you cards and I honestly think that is a wonderful life gift.
LIGHTING | I never buy candles even though I used to make them, but I said “hey, let’s seize the day” and bought these two at Bath and Body Works. I bought Spiced Apple Toddy and Vanilla Bean Noel. The first candle would really only work as a holiday candle and I love the way it smells, but it gives me a head ache…. wah wah. The second candle, Vanilla Bean Noel would honestly be great year round and I can’t stop lighting it; bonus: some teenagers from church said our house smelled cozy when it was lit.
ENJOYING | all things holiday. I usually don’t enjoy decorating for Christmas (or other holidays), but everything honestly feels very different since we have Evie. We don’t keep a lot of holiday decor, but we currently have all of it out of storage and we’re figuring out spaces for everything in our home. We’re currently on the hunt for large vintage looking Christmas light bulbs.
FEELING | grateful that we finally hung up things in our main entry room and I’m feel so happy every time I walk in here now 🙂 .
LAUGHING | about our driver’s licenses. We went to the DMV for several hours on Devin’s birthday because we had to renew that day. I took the photo above before our photo. My photo DOES NOT look like that. Evie started crying about the time she snapped the photo so I’m partially grimacing in my photo and another employee was brought over to see if Devin’s photo would make it. Needless to say, we had pretty good laughs when it was all over.
APPRECIATING | the live wreath our real estate company sent us. This is something I’d never buy for myself, but I really enjoy it. When I opened the package, I was pretty thrilled.
