We’ve now lived in the the Washington DC metro since November! We really love living here and we especially love how many free museums and places there are to visit. Devin tends to have more of a “read every word on the sign” kind of museum goer and I tend to be more of a “if this is interesting, I will peruse.” We have had a lot of guests since we’ve moved here and people often say “sorry, you’ve probably already seen this before,” but I honestly feel like I learn something new every time I go somewhere. I love it!
I decided that I probably needed to keep a list of places we have visited in Washington DC as well as places we still intend to go. There is honestly so much around here to do, and for free! Once the silver line extends into the metro, we will be going into the city more as a family. Our little girl has already been to the city a few times and I look forward to taking her when she is older.
QUICK TIPS FOR VISITING WASHINGTON DC
- To find this list of museums and sites to see, I honestly just looked up the sites from this Google list.
- If you’re interested, Google also provides suggested day trips in Washington DC (which we probably use in the future)!
- I highly recommend downloading Pokemon Go before you go walking around on your phone! I know that seems weird, but it is amazing because there are so many landmarks around the city and you can read details while you’re walking on EVERYTHING. I learned some really amazing tidbits by walking around with the app.
