I’ll be honest, I don’t think there are any books below that I would repeat read. However, they were interesting enough to finish. I’m looking forward to finding books I better connect with soon.

The Secrets of Happy Families
The author compiles research from families and businesses and applies them to a modern family. There were a lot of suggestions that I think could benefit any family, like having family goals and rules be a family made activity. However, everything was pretty simple. I felt I picked up a lot of these tips already from church or teaching classes where I learned about working with children.
Dark Road Home
I picked this book up because I felt listening to mystery books would help me get into the spirit of Halloween more. I don’t think the genre is probably for me because the reviews for this book are great, but I felt kind of meh about it. I was able to predict some of the “who done it” and there is a sweet love story in here.
I’ll Be Gone in the Dark
This book is about one woman’s search for the Golden Gate killer. The book was interesting in seeing how well researched everything was, but as could be guessed, the topic was depressing. Because crime scenes and accounts are detailed, there is a lot of violence and gore in this book. While writing this, I’m actually really surprised I finished the book. I can’t say that I recommend it because of content, however, if this is your genre, it is well pieced together.
Dear Evan Hansen
This is a coming of age novel about Evan Hansen. His counselor has him write notes to himself, but one is confused for another young man’s suicide letter. Hansen goes from anonymity to suddenly becoming popular as high school students grieve the student’s suicide. As far as content, it reminded me of this book that I read in high school. I read this book because it was recommended to a friend, but I need some happier reads now.
The Power of Habit
I checked this book out simply because the waiting list at the library for it was long and I wanted to see what the hype was about. The book is advertised as a personal habit book, but really it just takes a lot of business and marketing case studies and makes general terms. The book is interesting, but it isn’t really something one can easily apply to their life.
