quarter 2 | 2019 goals

July 11, 2019growth

I decided to discontinue doing goals on my blog here.

I think this is the most behind I’ve ever been on posting a goals post before!  We took a trip as a family to Michigan and took a stop in Pittsburgh.  We’re now back and into our routine again.  Devin has a few more days of parental leave so we’ll be getting some things done around the house and spending some time together.  I’m getting more sleep now which is fabulous.  I’ve been debating things like: do I want to teach a night or two a week or is worth the time away from each other as a family?  We’ll see.

A review on my quarter 2 goals

Make family goals and stick to them

  • Prioritize Devin doing something for himself for 2 hours every weekend
  • Take Evelyn to a library group at least once a week
E goes to a different play group almost everyday Monday through Friday.  This area is really awesome for SAHM + baby activities.  I really love getting to know the other mamas here, feel very supported, and get lots of great tips!
  • Make a spread sheet for all of the items we received for Evelyn for thank you cards
  • Finish writing thank you cards
Bah.  I’m going to get these cards written before baby turns 1!

Prioritize my self-care

  • Read 4 books
I am listening to one audio book and reading two others currently.  I’ve read two this quarter.
  • Schedule something social weekly
I’m out of the house Monday through Friday.  There are so many things to do here with mom groups that I had to start saying one thing a day.  That is a great feeling!
  • Go to the gym 6 days a week
This was overly ambitious.  I’ve settled into about 3 days a week which is much more doable.  I’ve become really into running pool labs.

Be a better homemaker

  • Meal plan with Devin every weekend
We’ve been decent at that.  We’ve gotten into staples we kind of eat every week.  We’re starting to need more variety though.
  • Meal prep meals every weekend
  • Buy a rug for our living room
    Bought it and love it!
  • Find better storage for under our living room bench
I just ended up throwing stuff away or organizing things in our coat closet.  There is now a lot less visual clutter.  We’ll eventually go through our storage room, but for the time being, we’re surviving infanthood haha.

Create more content

  • Publish one blog post a week
I started out doing really well, but then felt kind of burned out.  We’re on a good nap schedule now with baby though and I wrote about what I plan on doing now that I’m sleeping like a human here.
  • Spend two hours a week updating SEO or pinterest
Nope, but I did change the font size so I have more ad space.  I’m going to be adding more affiliate links to some of my posts.
  • Keep instagram updated with my books read
    Yes!

Make DC home

  • Go to Madame Tussauds in DC
  • Have Easter with the M family
You can see E’s easter dress here!
  • Do something with the S family

My quarter 3 goals

Make family goals and stick to them

  • Go on a date/ do something intentional together after baby has gone to bed weekly
  • Come up with a better prayer + scripture reading routine nightly

Prioritize my self-care

  • Finish the books I’m reading (currently 3)
  • Go to book club
  • Go to the gym 3-4 times a week
  • Keep going to my mama groups
  • Go on an overnight by myself

Be a better homemaker

  • Meal plan with Devin every weekend
  • Clear out the crib (it currently holds a lot of laundry while our baby sleeps next to our bed in a bassinet haha)
  • Put the rug pad underneath the carpet

Create more content

  • Publish one blog post OR update SEO/ affiliate links on posts weekly
  • Keep instagram updated with my books read

Make DC home

  • Go to Madame Tussauds in DC
  • Take a weekend trip as a family

Looking forward to checking in in quarter 3! 💜
