My word of the year for 2019 is courage! My reminder for the year is this lioness necklace with a baby lion on it too to remind me of my why. The realization that my child will likely take a lot of my life approaches on with her is overwhelming, but also exciting. I really want to put my best self forward for her.
We have a lot of new things coming our way… for example, we’re moving into our house TOMORROW. We’re lucky to have family in town to help us get unpacked and I want to fully take advantage of it! Beyond unpacking basics though, I want to just start feeling settled in and used to our new routine with Devin’s new job, our new life as parents, and figure out our new city! I feel like I have a lot of goals I’d like to achieve this quarter, but I know they’ll really help us set up some stability.
My quarter 1 goals:
Make family goals and stick to them
- Have an in house date with Devin with the baby sleeping at least once a month
- Go on one date with Devin and Evelyn out of the house at least once a month
- Take Evelyn on a stroller walk (weather pending)
- Look up library groups for newborn and Moms
- Keep to our budget by only eating out once a week
- Make a spread sheet for all of the items we received for Evelyn for thank you cards
- Finish writing thank you cards
Prioritize my self-care
- Read 5 books
- Leave the house for 2 hours a week by myself for myself
- Schedule therapy appointments
Be a better homemaker
- Finish unpacking
- Clean the house for at least 30 minutes daily
- Deep clean the house with Devin once a week
Create more content
- Update Instagram when blog posts are scheduled
- Publish list of books read on instagram
- Write 6+ blog posts
Make DC home
- Explore our new town!
- Find our favorite grocery store location
- Introduce ourselves to people at church
Review on my 4th quarter goals from 2018:

Nope. In the event of moving, something has to take a back seat. Rebrand my blogI’ve been thinking about this one for a long time. I did it and you can read more about that here.
Learn to really love Georgia
- Go on a baby moon
Nope. We moved and that’s where our money went, but honestly, having a new place to explore has been exciting enough on its own that we didn’t need it!
