March goals

March 1, 2018growth

I realized that I was a little overly ambitious on my goals for this past month so I am simplifying them.  The only goals I have done really well at this year have been: reading books (I’m at 9), taking my meds everyday at a consistent time, and going and seeing different places in Georgia to love home more.  However, I’m really proud of myself for those and I don’t want to minimize what a difference accomplishing those goals has already made for me.  I never want to come to these monthly goal posts and feel like I haven’t done anything when I can still see my progress.  Important as well, I never want someone else to come to these posts and feel like I do more or less than them.  We’re all on our own time table.

I ended up spraining my neck this month which was kind of a “doh!” moment, but I’m doing a lot better now.  I ended up doing some things that weren’t on this list too like joining a book club and a food co-op.  Sometimes the things we don’t set as goals end up being just as meaningful and flexibility is important. ðŸ’›

………………………………….

March goals:

Simplify our home

  • Organize our main closets (linen, dining room closet, and our pie safe)

Become healthier

  • Track what I am eating
  • Exercise for 30 minutes at least 12 times

Learn more

  • Read 20 chapters of scriptures
  • Read 4 church talks
  • Read 4 books
  • Sign up for my 3rd teaching license continuing ed class

Share/make content that means something to someone

  • Create my March word of the month video
  • Publish something on my blog or youtube at least twice a week

Learn to really love Georgia

  • Visit the Etowah Indian mounds with Devin
  • Visit the Marietta National cemetery

Goals from February:

Simplify our home

  • List all of my grad school textbooks online
Technically, I did, but Amazon has had a ton of issues with my account.
  • Put all of our DVDs and CDs into an organizer
This made such a huge difference!  It ended up making three TRASH BAGS completely full!
  • Read the Konmari method
Nope, but it is still on my list.

Become healthier

  • Go to the gym 12 times
  • Make 10 gratitude journal entries

Learn more

  • Read 20 chapters of scriptures
  • Read 4 church talks
  • Go to the temple
  • Read 4 books
  • Sign up for my 3rd teaching license continuing ed class

Share/make content that means something to someone

  • Create my February word of the month video
I need to get this edited and posted!
  • Create 2 book videos
Nope, but I did do two book posts here and here so I will count it.
  • Post 2 recipe posts
I took pictures and wrote down the recipe for one meal I made, but then when I took photos of it, this meal was UGLY.  Just being honest!  I do have a recipe that I need to post though that is picky kid approved.  If you like potatoes and cheese, then we’re good.
  • Post 2 travel posts
We were rained out on the occasion that we tried to see one place.  The other place was prematurely closed when we visited.  So, no travel posts, but man did we try!
  • Create an opt-in/freebie to share

Learn to really love Georgia

  • Visit the Etowah Indian mounds with Devin as our monthly Georgia trip
We certainly tried, but when we got there it said that we needed to be finished by 4:30 and it was 4:15.  The website just said the place closed at 5.  While we may have done a hour of driving for it, it was so worth it to see the pretty rural areas around here.
  • Explore a downtown nearby by myself
We explored downtown Cartersville, Georgia when the Etowah Indian mounds didn’t work out.

Looking forward to working on these goals for March ðŸ’›
