February goals

February 1, 2018growth

February is here!  I’m excited to share how I did on my January goals + show my goals for February.  This was a good month where I felt like I made a lot of progress.  However, I had a lot of anxiety that ended up changing my perspective on things.

I’m trying to figure out what my rhythm is for creating videos + blogging.  I’m surprised at how much faster creating vlogs has become!  At the same time though, blogging progress seems very slow.  I’ve been at the same amount of pageviews for a long time now and sponsored content hasn’t happened in a bit.  I’m really trying to push myself and learn more;  I hope I can share some progress I’m making on that in the coming months!

………………………………….

February goals:

Simplify our home

  • List all of my grad school textbooks online
  • Put all of our DVDs and CDs into an organizer
  • Read the Konmari method

Become healthier

  • Go to the gym 12 times
  • Make 10 gratitude journal entries

Learn more

  • Read 20 chapters of scriptures
  • Read 4 church talks
  • Go to the temple
  • Read 4 books
  • Sign up for my 3rd teaching license continuing ed class

Share/make content that means something to someone

  • Create my February word of the month video
  • Create 2 book videos
  • Post 2 recipe posts
  • Post 2 travel posts
  • Create an opt-in/freebie to share

Learn to really love Georgia

  • Visit the Etowah Indian mounds with Devin as our monthly Georgia trip
  • Explore a downtown nearby by myself

Goals from January:

Simplify our home

  • Clean/ organize / purge for 5 hours every week
I ended up doing 9/20 hours on this one.  I started really strong, became really anxious and depressed in the middle of the month, and now I have tons of piles in my family room to take to the thrift store.  However, progress is progress and I’ll celebrate that all day.
  • Take 1 trip to the thrift store with things I am getting rid of
Did it!  However, I let it sit in my house for too long and I’m realizing that almost drove me bonkers

Become healthier

  • Go to my endo appointment
  • Go to the gym 12 times
I started off strong and then nope, nope, nope.  I was really enjoying going to the gym with Devin, but it isn’t realistic with his schedule right now.  Here is to me putting on my big girl panties and going for more than 4 times next month.

Learn more

  • Read 31 chapters of scriptures
I listened to/read 15 chapters.  I didn’t hit my goal, but it was certainly better than what I have been doing.
  • Listen to 4 church talks
I listened to/read 6 church talks.  I found a new favorite and it was nice to be able to share it with Devin too.
  • Read 4 books
I read The Wizard of Oz, Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness, Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, and I’m midway through two other books.
  • Finish my continuing ed course for my teaching license
Hooray!  Now I need to do two more and I’ll be finished for the next five years.

Share/make content that means something to someone

  • Create my January word of the month video
  • Share two travel posts on my blog
I actually ended up writing 3.  You can find them here, here, and here.
  • Share a recipe on my blog
I didn’t this month, but I have one coming up that I keep making at home!
  • Spend five hours a week encouraging and engaging with other people’s content
I ended up doing this for 6/20 hours this month.  I’ll be honest, it was a little exhausting.  I’m going back to just commenting when I like.

Learn to really love Georgia

  • Visit somewhere I have never been before on a small day trip by myself
This was my favorite goal to cross off this month.  You can read about our trip here.  I really enjoyed the time with Devin and we have had a lot of fun planning our trip for this month.

What is a goal you have for February?
