Stitch Fix is a really awesome program where a stylist sends you clothing based on your size, style, and any additional social media that you include (I always use my pinboard here). I usually order a box a year because I’ve all of the items that I have bought have become serious closet staples that I have absolutely worn out and because it helps me try out different styles. This is a review of my July 2017 Stitch Fix box!
Devin brought me a coupon I received from Stitch Fix in the mail with no stylist fees. He has been bringing me a lot of coupons here lately from clothing stuff that he says I should use; Devin likes me to wear more color than I do and I’ve been wearing the same two striped shirts around the house for the last few months haha. In this box, I asked for cap sleeved clothing items so I wouldn’t have to layer in the summer with more color. I said that I like stripes, florals, and classics with some fun details 🙂 .
WHAT I DIDN’T BUY
I only had one item that I loved from this box. Most of the clothing just didn’t have a lot of color, but I would have liked the shape or cut otherwise. Everything fit, but it just didn’t look great on me except for the item I did keep. I thought the earrings in the box were cute, but at $28 that would be a pretty big splurge for earrings for me. The prices in this box were much better compared to past boxes though and everything was cap sleep or hit my knee like I asked (in the past, I’d be sent “knee length dresses” that hit me mid-thigh at 5’3 😉 ).
- Delilah Round Crystal Earrings
These earrings were cute and I love that they were yellow gold, but all of my friends have babies and I want my ear lobes to stay on my ears. I might have bought these though a few years ago though!
- Lana Textured Dress
This dress was a cute fit and flare that hit my knee. Usually I love this style of dress, but this one hit at a weird spot on my waist and made me look larger. I think this dress could have worked if the waist had been more fitted or potentially a little lower. - Quiney Ruffle Detail Blouse
In theory, I should have loved this. I love neutrals, I love ruffles, but it was simply too large. I realized I would also have to wear a tank top under neath it because the v in the neck was pretty wide and low.
- Hanah Floral Kimono
I really wanted to love this, but I couldn’t get behind the colors. I’m not a huge fan of pink, but these colors were too dusty and not bright/pure enough for my coloring. I am still on the search for a kimono that I will love though. I think when I find when I love, it will be a great thing 🙂 .
THE ITEMS I BOUGHT
The item I bought is this cute polka dotted number. Before I pulled it out of the box, Devin said I should get it because he liked the color; I happily complied 🙂 .
- Connie Pleast Detail Blouse
The color looked great on me, the material is easy to wash and super light weight, and I loved the fun polka dots and pleated details around the collar. This is great for going to work or just out in the summer. This shirt is Georgia summertime weather approved!
………………………………….
This was my 4th or 5th box I’ve received in the last four years. The stylist did a great job finding me lightweight and modest clothes for summer, but I think I wanted more color. The last box I received was back in January and I wear those items that I bought a ton when it is cooler! I’ve found that I usually don’t love the whole box I’m sent, but the items I do buy are always unique in my wardrobe and I definitely get my wear out of them.
