We’ve been spending a lot of time out in our yard and we removed the blinds from some of our windows to let even more sunshine in (why did we wait so long?!). Georgia does spring the way it should be done- so many flowers! I’m just grateful I’m not allergic to all of this pollen. These are my April recap + May goals.
HIGHS
- I found an amazing piece of furniture being unloaded at the thrift store when I was unloading my donations. I asked the people if I could pay them for it and they gave it to me for free. Devin and I are still not sure how I was able to get it into my car by myself, but I did.
- My job has gotten a million times better. This semester has been rough.
- We are getting home projects around here completed. Check out our new mailbox + the garden we put around it!
- I shared how we buy international tickets for under $400 round trip.
- I’ve been trying to really baby my hair since I realized how much hair loss I had this time last year. My hairdresser told me that I have a ton of baby hairs coming in and my hair is thick enough again that I can do a lot of twists and braids in my hair like I normally did.
…and this perfume is awesome smelling for $12 + some thoughts.
LOWS
My dang thyroid meds make me so nauseous. I submitted my side effects to a health website and apparently 10% of women my age have this side effect on this medication… FABULOUS. I’ve gained weight just because I end up sleeping a lot of the nausea off and I haven’t been very active. I’ve realized the last few months that my lows have been health-related every month and that is kind of making everything sink in that having an autoimmune illness is definitely chronic.
MY FAVORITES
- We absolutely love visiting ghost towns. I found this road trip for them around the US. I would love to visit the ones around the south!!. (We’ve been to Bodie in California and several in Death Valley.)
- Want to get paid to read books? I found this resource and I’m definitely intrigued.
- I loved this quote by Jen Hatmaker about setting up boundaries. Even more poignant, I think her first comment underneath it is just as growing where she talks about being on the receiving end of boundaries.
- I’m becoming even more obsessed with podcasts and now: teacher outfit instagram accounts. Here are some of my favorite teacher instagram accounts: here, here, here, here, and here.
Now for goals 🙂 …

Our mailbox project + a project I am doing this month actually took up a lot more time than I thought. This is still on the list!
