February Recap + March Goals

March 1, 2017growth

I absolutely can’t believe it is March, but I’ve decided I’m going to give myself a slower month; I think that is what my body has been kind of asking for.  As usual, there were more highs than lows, and I’m just enjoying the lovely spring weather.

HIGHS

I was having the worse flare up from mid-last month until the first few weeks in this one.  Well, the great news is I have been feeling really awesome.  I knew as soon as I started feeling better, I was going to start exercising again.  I’ve been on an excellent exercise kick for the last two weeks.  In the last week alone, I’ve logged 6 exercise videos 🙂 .  I’m excited to keep it up and I have a great workout buddy from church.

I also went to an ESL teacher conference.  It made me feel pumped and have a ton of ideas about things I want to be doing in my classroom.  I have plans to go to a few more this year.  It was great to see grad school friends!

LOWS

One of the stores that I had stocked with candles for a holiday pop up shop sent back my unsold candles + picture frames with about three pages of tissue paper.  Needless to say, I received more damage than I did from sales and I felt very frustrated.  I have been really quiet about candles and it is mostly because I just have to take a break.  I’ve had some really unfortunate experiences with businesses since I began and a large goal of mine is to like people more and not less ðŸ˜‰ .  I’m taking a break and potentially turning my candle business into a holiday pop up shop.  Either way, I won’t be doing whole sale or pop ups where I am not explicitly with my stock the whole time.

MY FAVORITES

Fun fact: Devin’s grandpa sings barbshop quartet and Devin’s Mom competes in the female equivalent of it.  Because of that, Devin introduced me to how amazing acapella music is 🙂 . This is forever old, but it is one of my favorite acapella mashups from my undergrad university, BYU.  And yes, that is alll only voices.

Now for goals 🙂 …

This year has been great for hammering out goals, but not necessarily the ones I have been setting.  That kind of makes me laugh, but oh well.  I’m looking forward to another great month!

Reviewing goals from February:

  • Read scriptures, church talks, or lessons for 31 days straight
  • Go to the temple twice
  • Lose 5+ pounds
  • Finish 3 of any of the following posts: DC, Europe, Mexico
Nope, but I did a lot of work on them! 🙂
  • Continue cleaning and purging our house
Am I where I want to be?  No, but it is definitely a start.
  • Read 4 books
  • Continue updating my Pinterest images in the blog- the new ones are cute!
I re-did them all and they look great!  Check them out here.
  • Build up an inventory of 20+ candles
I currently have 22 damaged candles in my inventory.  I don’t want to make a ton of candles until I can make up the losses from liquidating them at a major discount.

Goals for March:

  • Read 31 chapters of scripture, 10 church talks, and go to the temple 1 time
  • Purge every room in our house to simplify more
  • Exercise 15 times
  • Read 3 books

What were some high and lows for you in January?  What is a goal you have for February?
