Hello!
October has always hands down been my favorite month! This month has been a happy one for me and also the one where I felt like I was really 100% back to normal with my autoimmune stuff and the extra anxiety issues it was causing me. I still have flare ups, but I feel normal again. I’m so happy to feel like me for the first time in a few years and I’m just really happy about life right now.
HIGHLIGHTS
- I went to chalk art festival in my town.
- Went to brunch and went walking with Joy and Alex!
- I launched my candle business on the 15th! It has been really fun seeing how supportive people have been and being able to ship them out! I took some amazing photos with Benita of BRC Photography for the launch and I am still adoring them!
- Went walking and talking for a few hours with my friend before loading up for our 6 hour drive.
- We went to a childhood best friend’s wedding in Kentucky and met my parents there. I loved being able to be in my hometown with Devin and seeing how beautiful my friend Katy looked.
- I walked funny movies with my friend Jenna. Also, she sent me home with leftovers. Leftovers are my love language… I love them more than fresh food. Weird, I know.
- I talked my friend Joy out of getting a guinea pig. If anyone else needs help being talked out of an impulsive pet buying decision, I’m your person 😉 !
- We house-sat some with cool pre-teens. I was laughing so hard because they started picking on Devin for being an accountant.
- We are meeting more couples at church and hosted a dinner. I love stealing cute baby girls!
- I got a manicure with Alex. A day later, I’m realizing I can’t be trusted with nice fingernails, but I tried.
- I dressed up like a cheetah and Devin was a Dino for Halloween. This happened because the unicorn onesie I was planning on wearing gave me a perma wedgie…way not cool. We ended up finishing off the night with Crampus, a pizza, and some candy we stole from the candy bowl.
AROUND THE WEB
- THIS podcast about the enneagram by the Liturgists. Get your results and then let’s talk!
- I love mostly everything that Allison Fallon writes, but I love this post where she talks about giving ourselves some time to unplug.
- I have been ordering left and right off of ThredUp (this is my referral code for it) which is an online consignment store. I’ve been trying stuff on, seeing if it is the perfect fit, and sending stuff back if it isn’t. Basically, I keep about $70 in my account at all times so I can get free shipping and keep exchanging. I’ve always loved thrift store shopping, but I like this a lot better because the clothing is in really good shape and I often get things with tags on it still. I’m a BIG fan.
- I love this post by Joy about comparison in marriage.
- Mari Andrew is an instagram artist who posts these illustrations of the world around her. She has done some posts on empathy here and here lately that really, really touched my heart. I would have loved having these in my life when we first moved to ATL.
I’m looking forward to posting these monthly! Tell me about your month! 🙂
