As much as I love cooking, I sometimes feel like meal time when we get home late at night can be a constant battle of “do we actually have that in our fridge?” and “does this actually have a real vegetable in it?” My husband Devin is an auditor that works long hours and I am a graduate student and teacher, but I think it is safe to say that no matter what you are doing in your life it can be overwhelming trying to balance feeding yourself healthy meals, leaving time to socialize, having a semi-clean house, etc. That’s where companies like HelloFresh come in handy! This is my review of HelloFresh recipes and meals.

Hellofresh.com sends you a box full of ingredients and recipes with pre-measured ingredients to your door! I was a little skeptical at first because I wondered how processed the food would be because: how do you mail meat!?? However, I was really impressed when I opened the box to find that Hellofresh.com meals are really as amazing as I hoped they would be.
The meals that were mailed to me in my box included: Jamie’s Mega Mushroom & Lentil Curry, Crispy Chicken Parmigiana Salad, and Korean-Style Beef Stir Fry. The boxes included all the ingredients I needed to make the food except for olive oil and they really were all pre-measured! I found the recipes very easy to follow, but I was very happy to see the recipes would be easy to duplicate again with my own ingredients because I definitely will be!
The recipes and meals I was sent ended up being very easy to put together and also very fun! The recipes themselves were very different than meals I normally make, but my kitchen smelled so good!! I enjoyed making the meals so much that I decided to go ahead and just make them all in one afternoon so I could put them away for our lunches throughout the week. Since the box I was sent from Hellofresh.com was three meals for two people, it ended up making six well-portioned meals. I’m a person that likes to eat food and yet the portion size did not leave me wanting for more than my single serving.
My favorite recipe from the three boxes definitely ended up being Jamie’s Mega Mushroom and Lentil Curry, but it should be said that I plan on making all of these recipes again in the future!
I think Hellofresh.com dinner subscriptions are a great find for a busy couple or family! The prices are very comparable to eating out, but you save the time of grocery shopping and finding a recipe! I would happily buy their recipe book if they ever offered it.
