Our home is hand me down and thrift store central and I kind of love it that way- our living room is probably the cheapest room in the house! I like having a colorful and decorated home, but I am not willing to do it expensively. Sometimes I get the bug and think about updating things, but then I remember I would rather travel. Almost all of our friends in the burbs have kids and we will too someday, so I never want to have items in my house I have to spend ridiculous amounts of times worrying over. This is my eclectic living room tour!Tg
I often have a box full of decor I find from the thrift store that I rotate in and out of the house. Since this is the room that people first see when they come into our house, it makes sense that this is probably the room I keep moving around the most.
Something we would like to improve in the future is the lack of lighting because there isn’t any ceiling lighting! It makes it odd since this is our entry and exit room to talk to someone leaving our home in a very dimly lit area. At this point, our electric panel is completely full and we’d have to completely upgrade it to have more lighting wired for the house (that’s a few thousand dollars). In the mean time, I am checking out some affordable lamps and I’d also like to save up for a rug that is more forgiving for dirt.
